Malawi Internet Service Providers' Association - MISPA

Internet Exchange Routing Workshop 17-21 August 2009, Blantryre

The Malawi Internet Service Providers Association (MISPA) in collaboration with the Internet Society (ISOC) will run a one week advanced Internet Exchange Point (IXP) routing training workshop at the College of Medicine in Blantyre where MISPA is building and operating the Malawi Internet Exchange (MIX). The workshop will have a purpose built laboratory.

PARTICIPATION: Interested ISPs and qualified Internet engineers need to submit an application to be admitted to attend the workshop.


This advanced hands-on workshop will cover the following:

1. Internet, TCP/IP and Routing
2. Routing Protocols
3. OSPF and BGP for ISPs
4. BGP, Attributes, Policy
5. BGP Scaling and Multi-homing
6. IXP, MIX, set-up and operation
7. BGP Routing Laboratory
8. IXP Laboratory Exercises
